Having emerged in from the Rangers youth set up
in the 1990s, opportunities were limited at Ibrox and the powerful
defender headed for Coventry in 1995. Returned north to Dundee United
before Hearts brought him to Edinburgh in the summer of 1998, and
he has been a mainstay of the club's defence since then.
